It's the most wonderful time of the year! And with the frenetic hustle and bustle of the holidays upon us, it's easy to forget that this is the season of GIVING. During the next month, many of us will make long treks through field and forest to reacquaint with close friends and relatives. We'll join in old traditions and possibly start new ones. We'll sit down to large home-cooked meals, partake in gift giving and share a laugh or two. But amidst all of the festivities and revelry, we sometimes lose sight of what's more important-those who are without.
With that in mind, we approached this year's holiday gift from a charitable standpoint. Our overarching goal was to capture the essence of what it means to truly give. So in that spirit, the entire Activate! family has decided to forego our customary holiday gift, and instead begin a year-long movement of advocacy for the less fortunate.
Our business, and this industry as a whole, is intrinsically relationship driven. It was only natural that these relationships would help lead the charge for our humanitarian efforts. Therefore, in the true intentions of the season, Activate! is asking for all of our family, friends, vendors, suppliers, customers and employees to share in our goal for a sustainable charity program.
While researching a viable conduit for our program, we were blown away by World Vision. They are a vetted, humanitarian organization geared toward the health and welfare of families, children and their communities throughout the world. We are excited to be partnering with such a powerful organization that literally supports millions of underprivileged families.
Throughout 2013, we will be calling on everyone to contribute to the cause. We'll lay out the unique ways in which you can donate (you actually have the option of donating farm animals; our chairman donated two goats and named them Alfred!), and how your donations, regardless of size, will play a bigger part in our overall program.
To kick things off, Activate! is donating $50 to World Vision in the name of every one of our employees.
So during this holiday season remember that while receiving is a great indulgence, giving is the ultimate gift.
Have a Safe and Happy Holidays!
